Accepting Beta Testers

I am accepting new beta testers.

If you would like to join my beta testing team, please use my contact form to send me your name and email. Be sure to include in your message that you are applying to be a beta tester for my RapidWeaver themes, and please note any experience you have with websites, RapidWeaver, HTML, or CSS. These are not requirements, but familiarity with websites (or with RapidWeaver) is a plus. Unfortunately, I may not be able to reply to all requests. If I do not respond to your beta testing request, I do offer my apologies in advance.

What is a beta tester?

If accepted as a beta tester, you are expected to thoroughly examine and use my beta products and report any issues, problems, or suggestions that you have during the testing process. Usually, the beta testing process for a given product lasts no longer than one week. As a beta tester, I will deliver four to five beta versions of a product before final release. I ask that my beta testers view my products in as many web browsers as possible, including Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer 6, and Internet Explorer 7. In return for your help as a beta tester I am more than happy to provide my products free of charge to my beta testing team.

Apply now!

You can submit your beta tester application with my contact form. Thanks!

Silk 4.1

I am preparing a small update for Silk 4 that will be released this week. This update will address several remaining issues with my Silk theme. This will be a free update. The changes in Silk 4.1 are:
  • Fixed "jumping" issue in site header on page load
  • Re-implemented header “shine” as was present in Silk 3
  • Sidebar menu now displays correctly in IE6
  • You can now control breadcrumbs background-color with a color picker
  • You can now control breadcrumbs background-color opacity with theme variation
  • Added Verdana font to "Font" theme variations

Modernity

I am also preparing a small update for my Modernity theme. This update will address a potential rendering issue with the main menu in IE6. This update will also implement compatibility with certain ad blocking software. This will be a free update.

My Next Theme is Coming!

My next RapidWeaver theme is called “Apples to Oranges”. While leading the Mac User Group at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my partner (Justin Fleming) and I created a custom RapidWeaver theme for our own use. I will be releasing this really cool RapidWeaver theme to the public in the coming weeks. More information will be released soon. Stay tuned!

iPhone 2.0 Software Update

By now you are probably aware the iPhone 2.0 Software Update has been released. After failing to download the update on July 11th due to the iTunes server failure, I was able to successfully download the update on July 12th. For iPod Touch owners like me, the update costs USD $9.95 (or USD $10.25 in my case due to sales tax). The install lasted at least 30 minutes to backup my existing iPod contents, install the update, backup the update, and then re-sync my music, videos, and photos. However, the update process was smooth and went without interruption. Read More...

Wall-E

I just returned from watching Pixar’s latest movie, Wall-E. I must say, Wall-E is the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It is a refreshing escape from violence-ridden and plotless movies that normally riddle the summer movie selection. With little dialog and few humans in the picture, Wall-E triumphantly succeeds in emotion, sympathy, fun, and adventure! It was a delight to watch, and I was immediately drawn into the movie’s charm as soon as it started. Pixar has created its best movie since Toy Story 2 Read More...
